I accidentally stumbled upon another great thing to see for free in Los Angeles.
My father got me into the habit of going to the library when you want to get some serious writing done. Not only do they have reference material and big tables but the mood is so conducive to working it is hard not to feel like being productive.
Today I headed over to the Beverly Hills Library which is my favorite library for working.
On the way out the door I grabbed my camera figuring this library is yet another great place to cover for www.freethingstodoinlosangeles.com
In the main lobby area they have a temporary exhibit of an incredible autograph collection.
The main attraction is…
Abraham Lincoln’s Autographs on Letters and Cards!
That isn’t all. The collection also includes the signatures of:
- Theodore Roosevelt
- Rutherford B. Hayes
- Warren Harding
- Frederick Douglas
- Gerald Ford
- Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.
- Benjamin Harrison
- Ida Tarbell
- Robert Todd Lincoln
- Vachel Lindsay
The librarian couldn’t say how long the exhibit will be there but it sure was a pleasant surprise.
If you are in the area I suggest you stop and see it before it is gone.
